GRATEFUL DEAD
Born from the acid-soaked ferment of San Francisco in 1965, the Grateful Dead became one of the most adventurous and beloved bands America ever produced. Fluid, exploratory guitars, Jerry Garcia's warm and searching leads, and a rhythm section that could turn on a dime took folk, blues, and psychedelia somewhere no one had been before. Their tie-dye and skull-and-roses world was as loose and communal as the music. The Dead didn't just make records, they built a way of life that still rolls on today.
